Van Morrison, surnommé « Van the Man », est une légende de la musique nord-irlandaise dont l’œuvre fusionne de manière unique le jazz, la soul et le folk au sein de la « celtic soul ». Sa voix rugueuse et spirituelle a marqué l'histoire du rock dès les années 1960.

• Né à Belfast en 1945, il grandit immergé dans la collection de disques de blues et de jazz de son père.
• Il accède à la notoriété internationale en 1964 avec le groupe Them et l'hymne garage-rock Gloria.
